In a LinkedIn post, Denford confirmed that Laurence Vines had returned to its headquarters to assist in testing new race equipment due for unveiling at the World Finals in Singapore next month.
Vines first competed in the F1 in Schools competition, now known as STEM Racing, in 2017 with Centurion Racing. In 2018, the team produced the fastest car in the UK.
The following year, Centurion Racing qualified for the World Finals, finishing third overall and winning awards in Verbal Presentation, Research and Development, and Sponsorship and Marketing.
After earning a Mechanical Engineering degree, Vines joined Williams Racing as a Graduate Stress Engineer.
Denford is a British manufacturer known for CNC machines, laser cutters, and 3D printers for education and training. The company also founded and sponsors STEM Racing, the global STEM-based education project for students aged nine to 19.
Beyond his professional career, Vines has held multiple support roles within STEM Racing, including judge, mentor, race official, and pundit at regional, national, and global competitions.
Andrew Denford, CEO of Denford and Chairman of STEM Racing, says: “It’s always inspiring to see how the skills and experience gained through STEM Racing can open doors to incredible opportunities. Laurence is a great example of this and we are delighted that he continues to support us as part of our extended team.”
