Teaching WalkThrus International, co-founded by education consultants Tom Sherrington and Oliver Caviglioli, has unveiled an AI assistant called Chloe.
Sherrington announced the update on LinkedIn, stating that the tool will help members search the WalkThrus toolkit for techniques to support both coaching and teaching.
“Introducing Chloe, your AI Assistant. Chloe will search the toolkit for the best techniques to support your coaching and your teaching. You can ask follow-up questions and get into details including suggested questions etc. It's a powerful tool.... you're going to love it! Less time searching, more time thinking and planning,” Sherrington writes.
Teaching WalkThrus International was established in 2021 to manage the growing demand for WalkThrus publications and membership resources. The WalkThrus series, covering areas such as behavior, curriculum planning, explaining and modeling, questioning and feedback, practice and retrieval, and Mode B teaching, has sold more than 400,000 copies worldwide.
Alongside the books, the company provides digital resources, training, coaching tools, webinars, and case studies for schools and colleges in over 55 countries. More than 5,000 institutions are currently members.
The launch of Chloe is part of the company’s wider strategy to enhance teacher professional development with digital resources. By integrating AI, the aim is to reduce the time teachers spend searching for techniques and increase the time available for planning and reflection.
As Sherrington notes: “Less time searching, more time thinking and planning.”
