OpenAI highlights classroom uses of ChatGPT in new teacher-led collection
OpenAI has published Chats for High School Teachers, a new resource from ChatGPT for Education designed to show how teachers across multiple subjects use ChatGPT in daily classroom practice.
The release was shared in a LinkedIn post from ChatGPT for Education, which described the collection as “practical examples of how teachers are using ChatGPT every day.”
Teachers share real classroom applications
The collection brings together contributions from 12 educators teaching subjects including algebra, computer science, visual arts, and social studies. Each example outlines how ChatGPT supports lesson planning, curriculum design, and communication tasks. Teachers were invited to submit additional examples through the ChatGPT for Education platform.
Brent Schmitz, a business and entrepreneurship teacher, took to LinkedIn to note his role in the project. “Proud to be part of the team behind Chats for High School Teachers! Twelve educators came together to explore how AI can support classrooms — and now it’s live. Huge thanks to OpenAI for bringing us together,” he wrote.
Examples include prompts for teaching and feedback
The published examples show teachers using ChatGPT to refine assignments, design icebreakers, draft quizzes, and review student work against rubrics. Other uses include generating curriculum maps, creating substitute lesson plans, summarizing parent updates, and aligning content with ISTE standards.
Maggie Thompson, instructional leader and AI in education strategist, shared her experience of joining the first ChatGPT Lab for High School Teachers in September. “It was a great opportunity to engage with other teachers across the country who are using ChatGPT in lots of creative ways. Looking forward to where we can go from here,” she said.
