OpenAI has opened applications for Founder Day Singapore, a half-day event for startup founders, developers and builders from across Southeast Asia on Monday, June 22, 2026.
The event will run from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Singapore. Attendance is application-based and spaces are limited, although OpenAI has not disclosed the number of places available or an application deadline.
Founder Day Singapore will focus on building and scaling products using OpenAI models and APIs. The program includes product updates, live demonstrations and workshops covering agentic workflows, Codex and multilingual experiences.
The listed speakers are Teri Yu, who works on OpenAI’s Multimodal API Product team; Thomas Jeng, Head of Startups for Asia-Pacific at OpenAI; and Wulfie Bain, Applied AI Lead for Startups, International.
The published agenda also includes opening remarks on the state of the AI ecosystem, small-group breakout sessions, networking and a reception with the OpenAI team. Founders interested in attending must apply through the event registration page.
Workshops cover Codex and agentic workflows
OpenAI says the event will combine product deep dives with practical guidance for startups developing products using its APIs and models.
The technical workshops will address agentic workflows, the company’s Codex coding technology and the development of multilingual user experiences. Bain also said an ask-me-anything session would give attendees an opportunity to raise questions with OpenAI representatives.
The event page says participants will receive guidance on model selection, implementation approaches and technical practices used by startups building with OpenAI. Attendees will also have access to teams working on APIs, model evaluations and developer experience.
OpenAI has positioned the sessions around implementation rather than general introductions to generative AI, with live demonstrations and smaller breakout groups included alongside the main product presentations.
OpenAI startup leaders join Singapore program
Bain announced the event in a LinkedIn post aimed at founders and developers in Singapore and the wider Southeast Asia region.
"We're bringing together a select group of startup founders, developers and builders from across the region. You’ll get an inside look at what we're building on the frontier, and how top startups are building with OpenAI," he wrote.
The program will also include startup showcases, although OpenAI has not named the companies that will participate or provided details of the products being presented.
Founder Day Singapore is scheduled for June 22 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Applications are open, but OpenAI has not published its attendee capacity, selection timetable or registration closing date.
