OneStream and Girls Who Code announce partnership that aims to empower women developers in technology and finance

OneStream, a finance management platform, has announced a new partnership with non-profit Girls Who Code, aiming to close the gap in technology and finance by expanding education, mentorship, and career pathways for young women.

OneStream and Girls Who Code are aiming to build a more inclusive future, equipping the next generation of women with the skills and opportunities they need to pursue careers in finance and technology.

The partnership will provide education, mentorship and hands-on training to young women, helping them build the skills and confidence they need to pursue careers in technology and finance.

A recent survey conducted by OneStream found only 12 percent of female finance students expect to rely heavily on artificial intelligence (AI) in their future careers, compared to 68 percent of male students.

While 61 percent of female students said they were enthusiastic about developing AI-related skills, just 56 percent said they feel prepared, compared to 69 percent of male students.

OneStream will sponsor workshops for Girls Who Code participants, offering real-world exposure to enterprise technology and development tools. Participants will also connect with OneStream employees for mentorship opportunities.

Participants will also be invited to engage with OneStream’s Women in Finance network and will be offered mentorship opportunities with OneStream’s customers and partners.

Girls Who Code alumni will be invited to apply for internships with OneStream, offering real-world experiences in the technology and finance sector.

"We are at a pivotal moment, as today's macroeconomic shifts and rapid technological advancements continue to reshape the workforce," explains Dr. Tarika Barrett, CEO at Girls Who Code. "Our partnership with OneStream opens the door for students to explore careers in Finance and enterprise tech through real-world experience, access to cutting-edge tech, and mentorship from the women leading this transformation."

"Our recent Finance Talent Crunch research revealed a significant gender gap in AI confidence and experience – one that starts as early as the student level," adds Danielle Crane, Chief People Officer at OneStream. "We're proud to partner with Girls Who Code to help close that gap by providing girls and young women with the education, training, mentorship and support they need to confidently become the next generation of strategic leaders."

Girls Who Code has also been chosen as OneStream’s official beneficiary of its 2025 employee giving campaign.

Last year, the Girls Who Code launched a new cyber education campaign aiming to promote cybersecurity awareness in K-12 students.

RTIH AI in Retail Awards

Our sister title, RTIH, organiser of the industry leading RTIH Innovation Awards, proudly brings you the first edition of the RTIH AI in Retail Awards, which is now open for entries.

As we witness a digital transformation revolution across all channels, AI tools are reshaping the omnichannel game, from personalising customer experiences to optimising inventory, uncovering insights into consumer behaviour, and enhancing the human element of retailers' businesses.

With 2025 set to be the year when AI and especially gen AI shake off the ‘heavily hyped’ tag and become embedded in retail business processes, our newly launched awards celebrate global technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world and the resulting benefits for retailers, shoppers and employees.

Our 2025 winners will be those companies who not only recognise the potential of AI, but also make it usable in everyday work - resulting in more efficiency and innovation in all areas.

Winners will be announced at an evening event at The Barbican in Central London on Wednesday, 3rd September.

This will kick off with a drinks reception in the stunning Conservatory, followed by a three course meal, and awards ceremony in the Garden Room.
