Imagi and Lovable team up with OpenAI to launch classroom-ready AI coding lessons

Teachers can now access Lovable’s AI tools through imagi Edu, with OpenAI providing $1 million in credits to expand free access during Computer Science Education Week.

Sari Hurme-Mehtälä, Chief Growth Officer at imagi, took to social media to announce a new partnership between imagi, Lovable, and OpenAI. The collaboration introduces a free classroom program that brings AI-powered coding lessons to students through the imagi Edu platform.

Imagi, an EdTech company founded in Sweden, provides a “safe, school-ready gateway” that combines AI tools, curriculum, and teacher training to help educators teach AI and computer science confidently. Lovable, an AI developer tool provider, focuses on making generative AI accessible and age-appropriate for classrooms. The company’s partnership with imagi and OpenAI aims to reach teachers and students globally with structured, curriculum-aligned coding lessons.

Free access through OpenAI collaboration

In its own announcement, Lovable confirmed that OpenAI will provide $1 million in credits so schools can use its platform for free through imagi during Computer Science Education Week and the Hour of AI initiative.

The collaboration offers educators and organizations “ready-to-run lessons, pro tips, and free resources,” delivered through imagi Edu. The initiative centers around vibe coding, a hands-on approach to AI learning that allows users to build prototypes and explore creative problem-solving with AI tools.

Unlike traditional coding programs, vibe coding focuses on intuitive experimentation with generative models. While the imagi Edu version is tailored for classroom use, the broader framework is designed to engage learners across industries and age groups, from students to professionals developing new workflows or digital products.

All materials follow privacy-first standards, including COPPA compliance and anonymous user accounts.

Expanding AI literacy in schools

Imagi Co-Founder and CEO Dora Palfi also shared the news on LinkedIn, noting that the partnership is designed to bring “vibe coding” to 100 million students worldwide.

Palfi wrote: “For about a year now, Anton has been gently insisting that we bring Lovable to kids. After all, I’m the ‘kids in tech’ expert in the family. We set the goal of bringing vibe coding to 100m kids globally.”

Educators can claim free access through imagi Edu, which provides downloadable lesson plans, classroom materials, and webinar sessions under the Hour of AI program.

Commenting on the collaboration, Sari Hurme-Mehtälä said: “CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING!!! When Dora Palfi asked me to join imagi and explained their future vision, I did not need to think twice! We are building something amazing and Lovable! Through imagi Edu teachers can now bring Lovable's AI tools into classrooms with safe and age appropriate way. Teachers—jump into Vibe Coding and leave with a ready-to-run lesson, pro tips, and free resources.”
