Google partners with Korean startup Dot Inc to improve online education for blind and low-vision learners across the world

Dot Inc’s Dot Pad is the first large-scale tactile display for real-time graphics. It can convert text into braille and change images, charts, and diagrams into touchable graphics. This allows students to explore textbooks, science materials, and maps.
Under the new partnership, Dot Pads will be used alongside Google Chromebooks to provide visually impaired students with hands-on access to digital graphics. The innovation will allow teachers to deliver inclusive lessons in both specialist and general classrooms.
The collaboration was announced at the World Inclusion Congress hosted in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
"Our mission at Google for Education is to ensure every student can learn equally," says Tim Paolini, Special Projects Lead at Google for Education. "Through this partnership with Dot Inc, we aim to assist teachers and students in building more inclusive classrooms."
"This collaboration with Google is not only about accessibility. It's about changing the future of education and opening new doors for millions of learners," adds Eric Ju yoon Kim, CEO at Dot Inc.
