Aston Business School and Capgemini sign agreement for new AI business transformation MSc
Aston University’s new MSc AI for Business Transformation will start in Birmingham in September 2026, with Capgemini contributing teaching, projects and internship opportunities.
Professor Alexeis Garcia Perez, Director of the Aston-Capgemini Centre of Excellence for Enterprise AI at Aston University, marks the signing of the Aston Business School and Capgemini collaboration agreement supporting the MSc AI for Business Transformation.
Aston Business School and Capgemini have signed a partnership agreement to support the launch of Aston University’s MSc AI for Business Transformation, a new one-year full-time postgraduate program focused on enterprise AI, business change and responsible AI governance.
The course will be delivered at Aston University in Birmingham from September 2026 and is aimed at students preparing for roles in AI-enabled business transformation, digital strategy, project management, change management and data-driven innovation.
Capgemini will contribute to the program through guest lectures, industry-led research projects, internship opportunities and input into the design and delivery of one course module. The partnership is linked to the Aston-Capgemini Centre of Excellence for Enterprise AI, which works on enterprise AI adoption, governance and skills.
Capgemini works with organizations on technology-led business change, including AI, data, cloud, software, engineering and business operations. It has 420,000 team members in more than 50 countries and reported 2025 global revenues of €22.5 billion.
Capgemini to support teaching and industry projects
Aston Business School said on LinkedIn that the collaboration would connect academic teaching with industry experience.
“This collaboration brings together academic expertise and industry insight to equip students with the knowledge and practical experience needed to lead AI-enabled business transformation.”
It added that Capgemini would “contribute to teaching, deliver guest lectures, support industry-led research projects and offer internship opportunities,” giving students exposure to business challenges at a technology and transformation consultancy.
The MSc covers modules including Artificial Intelligence for Business, Digital and Business Transformation, Predictive Analytics, Responsible AI and the Governance of Emerging Technologies, Managing Projects, and Value Creation and Business Impact with AI.
Students will also study Aston Global Advantage, Aston Business School’s professional development module, and Applied Research Methods and Skills.
Course focuses on responsible AI adoption
Professor Alexeis Garcia Perez, Director of the Aston-Capgemini Centre of Excellence for Enterprise AI at Aston University, wrote on LinkedIn that the agreement was “a significant milestone for Aston Business School and Capgemini.”
“As we continue to expand our impact at the Aston-Capgemini Centre of Excellence for Enterprise AI, this partnership to launch the new MSc AI for Business Transformation is a proud moment for all of us.”
He added: “This programme directly advances our core mission: fostering the responsible adoption of AI across business and society.”
The course is designed around business transformation rather than standalone technical AI training. Aston University says students will examine how AI can support business and digital transformation journeys, apply people-processes-technology management frameworks, and evaluate responsible and ethical use of AI and emerging technologies.
Students will have the opportunity to gain the ISACA Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals Certificate, which Aston University describes as validating foundational expertise in AI.
