McGraw Hill announces new partnership integrating Pearson’s assessment capabilities into its K-12 program

Leading education providers McGraw Hill and Pearson have announced a new partnership, bringing Pearson’s assessment capabilities into McGraw Hill’s K-12 curriculum solutions.

Pearson’s Pearson Review of Progress & Learning (PRoPL) will add high-quality interim assessment solutions directly into McGraw Hill’s core curriculum offerings, giving educators a better understanding of student progress.

The PRoPL assessments, which are aligned to each U.S. state’s standards, are designed to be completed within 30 minutes, saving valuable classroom time whilst maintaining assessment integrity.

Pearson and McGraw Hill say the partnership will help create a more comprehensive view of student progress toward academic goals, while saving valuable teaching time.

The new integration will strengthen McGraw Hill’s personalization capabilities and support educators’ growing need for data-driven teaching tools.

“This collaboration combines McGraw Hill’s high-quality, modern curriculum with Pearson’s innovative digital assessments to unlock more value for students, teachers and administrators,” explains Sean Ryan, President at McGraw Hill’s School Group. “By creating an elegant linkage between assessment and instruction that delivers reliable insights to inform classroom practices and district decision making, we’re giving educators the opportunity to focus on what matters most – student growth.”

McGraw Hill will initially rollout the Pearson integration interim assessment solution in California, starting from the 2025/26 school year. PRoPL will be available with McGraw Hill’s California Reveal Math for K-8 mathematics

The integration will be rolled out to other subjects, grade levels and states in the coming years.

“The future of education is data-driven, and this collaboration is paving the way. By combining Pearson's assessments with McGraw Hill's core curriculum, we're creating an integrated system where academic data flows naturally into teaching decisions, helping every student receive the right support at the right time,” adds Trent Workman, Managing Directora at Pearson K-12 School Assessments in the US.

Earlier this year, Pearson introduced Smart Lesson Generator, an AI-powered tool designed to create curriculum-aligned English language learning materials. The company states that the system is built to reduce the time educators spend on lesson planning by offering tailored, level-appropriate content in seconds.
