Kevin Dubouis leaves The Wall Street Journal to join OpenAI community strategy team
Kevin Dubouis has announced he is joining OpenAI as part of the community strategy team after nearly six years in senior strategy roles at The Wall Street Journal.
Kevin Dubouis, who previously worked at The Wall Street Journal, confirmed in a LinkedIn post that he is starting a new role at OpenAI.
“Some personal news: I'm thrilled to share that after nearly six years at The Wall Street Journal, I'm starting a new chapter at OpenAI!” he wrote. “I'm so proud of the work we accomplished at the Journal: building a strategy team from the ground up, shaping the way we tell stories for a digital audience and helping a global newsroom navigate industry-wide change.”
Dubouis spent almost six years at The Wall Street Journal, most recently as Director of Strategic Initiatives. He also held roles as Director of Content Strategy and Deputy Coverage Editor for Audiences. Before joining the Journal, he worked in editorial and strategy positions at Condé Nast, AJ+, and Al Jazeera Media Network.
OpenAI is a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence research and deployment organization best known for developing ChatGPT. At the company, Dubouis will be part of Bailey Richardson’s team, leading efforts to analyze how early adopters in specialized fields use AI to address global challenges.
Dubouis adds in his LinkedIn post: “Joining OpenAI is energizing. I'm inspired by the mission, the pace of innovation and the opportunity to empower people with this new technology. I’m very excited to collaborate with some of the top minds in the tech industry.”
