HighWire selected as new host of the Journal of Medical Regulation’s digital platform

HighWire Press, a specialist in academic and scholarly publications, has signed a three-year deal to host the Journal of Medical Regulation (JMR) on its digital platform.

The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) has published JMR since 1913 and aims to modernize its online presence, while improving accessibility and content delivery for the medical community.

Due to go live in 2026, the new platform will provide advanced multimedia support to enhance articles with a range of options and comes with built-in analytics and reporting to support editorial decisions and strategy. It will also offer an early release model that can accelerate access to the latest research and findings.

HighWire will host JMR’s current content as well as a rolling 20-year archive to ensure that key insights remain discoverable and accessible globally.

"FSMB was looking for a robust, modern hosting solution to support our journal's growth and evolving needs," explains Kelly Hadsell, Managing Editor at JMR. "HighWire offers the flexibility, functionality, and support we need to better serve our readers and contributors."

"FSMB's work in physician regulation is critical to public health and medical practice," adds Tony Alves, SVP of Product Management at HighWire. "We are proud to support JMR with a digital experience that matches the journal's history, reputation, and mission."
