AI tool QuillBot names ex-Turnitin AI Vice President Eric Wang as its new Research Vice President

QuillBot, an AI communication platform, has named Eric Wang as its new Vice President of Research.

Wang was previously Vice President of AI at global edtech company Turnitin, where he built an AI team from the ground up.

He has also held data science and research roles at Chegg, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and Duke University.

At QuillBot, Wang will be tasked with guiding innovation across the company’s growing range of products, leading the AI, linguistics, and research teams.

“I am thrilled to join QuillBot, especially during this rapid time of change for the company and the AI landscape as a whole,” Wang comments. “I was drawn to this role and to QuillBot because the team deeply understands the intersection of AI, communication, and creativity. We have a unique opportunity to build AI that genuinely feels deeply personal and human-centered, and I can’t wait to get started.”

QuilBot says Wang will focus on advancing its multimodal creation tools, deep personalization, and secure AI experiences.

“Eric is a rare leader who brings together deep AI expertise and highly successful operating experience leading AI teams and innovation,” adds Andrew Grauer, CEO at QuillBot. “His vision for personalized, trustworthy, and creativity-first AI aligns perfectly with QuillBot’s mission and goals. He’ll play a critical role in helping us deliver tools that reduce digital performance anxiety and unlock creative expression for everyone.”
