University of Phoenix launches central AI Center to help adult learners use generative AI effectively and responsibly
The University of Phoenix has announced the launch of its Center for AI Resources, a student hub aiming to support learners, faculty and staff to make the most of generative AI in a safe, ethical and effective way.
The Center brings together AI literacy, policy-aligned expectations for coursework, and practical advice on how to use AI tools and prompts.
All students at the university receive access to Microsoft Copilot, allowing them to use AI for research, ideation, and productivity within a secure space. The Center builds on this by providing step-by-step orientation for AI tools available to them and responsible-use scenarios.
As well as explaining ethical and responsible use of AI, the Center also provides guidance when AI is useful and when human judgment is required.
"We built the Center to empower students — to give them the confidence and practical know-how to use AI thoughtfully, cite sources, protect their data and uphold academic integrity while they learn," explains Doris Savron, Vice Provost of Colleges, Assessment and Curriculum. "Our focus is on equipping working adults with clear guidance and real-world examples so they can turn AI into a trustworthy study and problem-solving partner."
The Center is accessible through the university’s virtual platform. It also includes a built-in feedback system to allow users to rate usefulness and share suggestions. Insights from this will be used to create rapid updates and short-form video explainers.
