Sangoma and Quicklert join forces to improve AI-powered school safety across North America

The partnership supports compliance with Alyssa’s Law while unifying school emergency communication and safety systems into a single platform.

Sangoma Technologies, a Canadian provider of cloud, hybrid, and on-premises communications platforms, has partnered with Quicklert, a U.S.-based developer of AI-powered safety and emergency notification technology, to enhance security in schools.

The partnership aims to help schools meet legal mandates such as Alyssa’s Law, which requires public elementary and secondary schools in several U.S. states to install silent panic alarms that connect directly with law enforcement. The joint solution integrates voice, video, and emergency response systems to provide a unified approach to campus safety.

Teacher communication tools, PA systems, intercoms, clocks, access control, panic buttons, and video surveillance can all be connected within one platform, reducing the need for multiple systems.

Charles Salameh, CEO of Sangoma, says, “We are committed to helping schools build safe, smart campuses where students and educators feel secure. By partnering with Quicklert, we’re combining best-in-class communications with proactive emergency alerting. Together, we can help schools meet legal safety requirements while reducing operational complexity and cost.”

Examples of deployment

Several schools have already implemented the joint solution. Dowling Catholic High School in Iowa replaced outdated PA, intercom, clock, and bell systems with Quicklert’s video intercoms, live video broadcasts, AI-based surveillance, one-touch emergency help functions, and local 911 alerts integrated with Sangoma’s communication technology.

Great Hearts Schools of Texas adopted the solution to meet Texas 911 regulations requiring location information for first responders. Previously, the district would have needed a dedicated phone line for every classroom. Instead, Quicklert and Sangoma enabled instant, silent alerts with location data across 14 campuses, with full installation completed in under an hour.

Expanding integration across districts

Quicklert’s technology manages both day-to-day operations, such as bells and PA announcements, and critical safety functions, including surveillance, panic alerts, and mass notifications. Through this partnership, schools will be able to integrate these capabilities with Sangoma’s unified communications services, enabling faster responses during emergencies.

Quicklert CEO and founder Alok Jain says, “Our mission has always been to deliver a single, intelligent platform that makes schools safer and communications simpler. Partnering with Sangoma will help us to achieve that mission on a global scale. Whether it’s complying with Alyssa’s Law, preparing for an unthinkable emergency or day-to-day communication and security, we give schools the tools to respond instantly and effectively.”

The combined solution will be offered to school districts across North America through Sangoma’s partner network and Quicklert’s existing safety programs. Beyond education, the technology is also designed for healthcare, government, hospitality, and retail environments.
