PTA Connected initiative launches, aiming to support U.S. parents in keeping their children safe online
The PTA Connected initiative, launched by the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA), aims to help parents ensure children are kept safe online.

The PTA aims to work with parents on digital parenting issues, connecting them with tools, research and support to help them make informed decisions for their children.
The PTA Connected scheme offers free resources including the Create with Kindness program, a collaboration between the National PTA and social network TikTok. The scheme offers interactive discussions and aims to provide practical information and resources to improve online safety.
The Ready, Tech, Go! Program offers families peer-to-peer discussions on screen readiness and ways to promote healthy device use.
In the 2024-25 school year, the National PTA awarded 350 local PTAs with $1,500 each to host Ready, Tech, Go! programs for parents and caregivers and $3,000 to 87 local PTAs to hose the Create with Kindness TikTok scheme. Additional funding will be awarded to local PTAs in the 2025-26 school year.
Last year, the National PTA and Meta announced a new partnership aiming to empower parents and caregivers with practical resources, insights, and guidance to address age-appropriate online habits within their families confidently.
