Konica Minolta Business Solutions celebrates the success of its third Ada Lovelace event in partnership with TechGirls

Konica Minolta Business Solutions, a data and IT services company based in the UK, has held its third annual Ada Lovelace event at its Client Engagement Center in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire.

As women make up just 17 percent of the workforce in the technology sector, the event aims to help bridge the digital skills gap and diversify the industry.

More than 30 girls in Year 8 from neighbouring schools were invited to participate in the event, which aimed to demonstrate the range of careers available in technology. They were also encouraged to create posters to inspire other girls to consider STEM subjects, which were professionally printed.

The event was held in partnership with outreach provider TechGirls. Sukvinder Kathuria, Founder at TechGirls, explains: “We really do rely on partners like Konica Minolta, who do incredible work in raising curiosity and creating ambition amongst young girls, inspiring them in their academic choices and future career paths.”

Gemma Lee, Chief People Officer at Konica Minolta Business Solutions, adds: “This is one of the most important events in Konica Minolta’s calendar. Hosted at our Client Engagement Centre, it provides us with an amazing opportunity to share our enthusiasm with young girls at an important time in their school lives. We worked with them for the day sharing our knowledge and showing them there are future career opportunities available, here at Konica Minolta or in technology.”
