Indiana expands partnership with ClassWallet, supporting scholarships for disabled students and their siblings

The Indiana Treasurer of State’s Office has announced a new partnership with digital wallet provider ClassWallet.

Under the new contract, ClassWallet will distribute $8.85 million in scholarships to families in Indiana using its digital wallet platform over two years. It will serve up to 3,500 students across the state through Indiana’s Education Scholarship Account (ESA) and Career Scholarship Account (CSA).

Indiana’s ESA program offers funds for K-12 students with disabilities and their siblings. Families can use ESA funds for private tuition, home-based education, therapies, tutoring, or other approved educational expenses.

The CSA program offers funding for high school students in grades 10-12, helping them to prepare for future careers with up to $5,000 annually.

"We appreciate the continued confidence the State of Indiana has placed in us," says Steve Lindeman, CEO of ClassWallet. "Indiana has a strong, forward-thinking team, and we're excited to continue our work together to maximize the impact of these critical dollars for families and students across the state."

"At the heart of these programs is our commitment to financial modernization and opportunity," adds  Daniel Elliott, Indiana State Treasurer "ClassWallet's technology gives us the tools to ensure Hoosier students not only have access to resources, but that those resources are delivered efficiently, securely, and with strong accountability."

The news follows months after ClassWallet announced the creation of an Early Care and Education (ECE) Centre of Excellence

The initiative aims to support childcare professionals, providers, ECE programmes, and government agencies in developing effective and efficient government-funded programmes for early childhood care and education.
