IBM SkillsBuild, which offers free access to digital courses, has partnered with Lynx Educate to expand access to free AI and digital skills courses worldwide.

The partnership brings IBM SkillsBuild’s free courses on AI, cybersecurity, data science, job readiness, and professional skills to hard-to-reach communities through Lynx Educate’s network of grassroots partnerships and non-profit organizations.

The two organizations have committed to training 30 million people by 2030, equipping them with industry-recognized digital badges. The courses offer learners a chance to take part in project-based learning, preparing them for real world employment opportunities.

Lynx and IBM hope to reach a wide range of learners including those without traditional education, frontline workers, and young professionals looking for new pathways.

Writing on LinkedIn, Lynx’s CEO and Co-founder Sylvie Milverton says: “I’m overjoyed to count IBM SkillsBuild as our partner and customer. Together, we will bring free access to AI and digital skills to hundreds of thousands of learners across universities, schools, and local communities.”

Lynx Educate warns that by 2030, nearly 40 percent of workers’ core skills will need to change, leaving millions at risk of being left behind by the AI economy.
