Industry experts from Google, Stripe, and Gartner will inform General Assembly’s AI Academy training approach.

General Assembly has launched a Future Skills Board to provide ongoing input into its AI Academy curriculum. The company, which provides technology-focused training and upskilling programs globally, says the new board will ensure course content remains aligned with industry demands.

The board includes senior leaders from companies such as Stripe, Google, and Gartner. Members will co-create and validate curriculum modules and advise on emerging skills requirements in applied artificial intelligence (AI).

Founded in 2011, General Assembly offers skills-based training to individuals and employers, focusing on areas such as data, design, software engineering, and product management. The company is part of the Adecco Group and works alongside LHH to support workforce development.

Real-time feedback for AI Academy

The AI Academy is General Assembly’s dedicated training platform for AI skills. With input from the Future Skills Board, the platform will be updated continuously to reflect real-time feedback from employers.

Dr. Jeffrey Bergin, chief learning officer at General Assembly, says, “We’ve always prioritized practical knowledge and skills that are immediately applicable to today’s world of work by employing instructors who work in the fields they teach. Our Future Skills Board will bring us even more real-time insights into how companies are implementing AI, where they’re seeing skills gaps, and how they’re evolving their talent strategies. This ensures our curriculum always reflects employers’ most pressing needs.”

Daniel Huss, chief executive officer at gravityAI and a Future Skills Board member, adds, “This step is following in General Assembly’s great tradition of pulling in experts who eat, breathe and sleep this stuff every day, in this case, AI. It’s why their approach to upskilling is consistently the most relevant and applicable in practice.”
