John Harrington, CEO and founder of Funds For Learning, has been appointed to the Global Board of Directors of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO).
The announcement was made in a LinkedIn post earlier this week, in which Harrington reflected on his journey with the nonprofit network of business owners.
Funds For Learning is a U.S.-based consultancy that helps schools and libraries secure federal E-rate funding for internet access. The company, based in Oklahoma, has been in operation since 1997 and supports efforts to close the digital divide in education.
Harrington joined EO in 2013, initially seeking to improve his leadership skills. In the post, he wrote: “I was simply looking to become a better leader. I felt like I was coming up short, both at work and at home, and hoped that EO might offer some tools or perspective to help me grow.”
Over the past decade, he has held roles at multiple levels of the organization, starting with the Oklahoma City chapter and expanding into regional and global positions. EO is a global network of over 18,000 entrepreneurs across 75 countries focused on shared learning and peer mentorship.
Four-year term begins on EO Global Board
Harrington stated that his appointment to the global board “is not a culmination. It is a continuation of what EO has always been about: shared learning, generous leadership, and helping one another become the best versions of ourselves.”
He credited several individuals with supporting his development within the organization, including Chris Evans, Lynn Anstett, and Joaquin R. Cordero. “Your support has shaped this journey more than you know,” Harrington wrote.
The appointment marks the start of a four-year term. EO’s global board is responsible for setting strategy and overseeing initiatives that support the growth and development of entrepreneurs worldwide.
