CENTEGIX announces upgrade to its visitor management system, improving school safety

Incident response and campus safety provider CENTEGIX has launched an updated version of its Visitor Management System, aiming to improve how schools manage campus access.

Visitors can now check in using a smartphone via QR codes, reducing wait times and queuing. All visitors will be issued with a secure, scannable digital credential, making it easier for them to navigate through campus access points. Visitors will also be able to check in anywhere thanks to self-service check-in stations.

CENTEGIX says the new system will reduce front office workload as visitors can scan their own IDs and print badges themselves.

The system also offers instant checking against the National Sex Offender Registry and custom “no-go” lists. Administrators can also track visitor volume, volunteer and contractor hours using the system and screen volunteers.

The Visitor Management System can also be synchronized with Student Information Systems, enabling schools to keep accurate attendance records.

The new system is offered at no additional cost to all CENTEGIX Safety Platform customers and is also available as a standalone solution.

Vince Zappa, Chief Product Officer at CENTEGIX explains:  "We listened to our customers. We went back to the drawing board. And we built a system that's not just better – it's smarter, faster, and ready to scale. Whether used independently or as part of our CENTEGIX Safety Platform, it empowers schools to elevate security and operational efficiency.

“By embedding it into our platform alongside CrisisAlert and Safety Blueprint, we've created the foundation for future innovation – enabling us to continue delivering safety solutions that evolve with our customers' needs.”

Melinda Bruna, who works in the Technology Department at Abilene Public Schools, adds:

"What I like most about the new system is the dashboard. I can see who has checked in for the entire district without having to switch sites. Our front office staff loves the QR code feature for parent check-in. This capability made check-in for our awards ceremony much faster because multiple parents could be signing in at once.”
