Canva launches Ireland ambassador program targeting small business and creator community
New Canvassadors initiative formalizes community-led training, events, and content creation as Canva expands its role in digital skills and small business support.
Canva has launched a new ambassador program in Ireland, targeting small business owners, creators, and community leaders, as the company builds out local networks to support digital skills and design literacy.
The initiative, announced by Michael McLoughlin, Global Director at Canva, in a LinkedIn post, focuses on users who already promote Canva within business and community settings, formalizing their role through structured support, events, and content activity.
The Ireland Small Business Canvassadors program is designed for founders, freelancers, educators, and community organizers who use Canva in their day-to-day work and support others in doing the same.
Participants are expected to create tutorials and practical content, host workshops, and contribute to local business and entrepreneurial communities through meetups and events.
McLoughlin said in a LinkedIn post that “we want to support the people who are already helping others grow whether that’s through local meet ups, community groups, or sharing practical advice that actually works.”
He added that “if you’re someone who regularly recommends Canva or supports other small businesses, we’d love to connect.”
The program is not a paid role, but includes access to tools, events, and collaboration opportunities, alongside a free Canva Pro subscription.
Focus on community-led learning and skills sharing
The structure of the program centers on peer-to-peer learning, with ambassadors acting as local facilitators for digital skills development.
Activities include running workshops, delivering training sessions, creating educational content, and supporting founders in applying design tools within their businesses.
The initiative also includes access to community funding for local events, affiliate opportunities, and direct communication channels with Canva teams and other ambassadors.
The launch builds on Canva’s existing community programs across the UK and Ireland, where ambassadors operate within co-working spaces, accelerators, and business networks.
The approach reflects a wider trend in EdTech and digital tools, where companies are investing in community-led delivery models to support adoption and skills development beyond formal education settings.
With more than 430,000 monthly users in Ireland, Canva is positioning the program as a way to scale localized engagement and extend its reach into small business and creator ecosystems.
