Avantis Education launches VR pilot program in the Caribbean ahead of a wider rollout
Avantis Education, a virtual and augmented reality education specialist, has launched a ClassVR pilot in the Caribbean ahead of a wider rollout aiming to transform classrooms with immersive technology.
Taking place over 12 weeks in the British Virgin Islands, the pilot will be delivered in partnership with education non-profit Unite BV. Teachers will be given structured onboarding and ongoing support including online and in-person sessions.
Avantis hosted a full day workshop with 32 teachers from ten primary and SEND schools focused on the use of VR in classrooms. The company also met with the Ministry of Education’s technical teams to establish long-term support for schools.
Students will be given access to VR headsets preloaded with Avantis’ curriculum, allowing them to explore immersive learning environments.
“We’re incredibly proud to be working alongside education leaders in the British Virgin Islands,” says Huw Williams, CEO of Avantis Education. “This pilot is about more than just technology – it's about reimagining what learning can look like. By immersing students in interactive, curriculum-aligned experiences, ClassVR helps to ignite curiosity and deepen understanding in a way that traditional methods can’t
“We’ve seen how powerful VR can be in driving engagement and improving outcomes. Through this Caribbean pilot, we’re taking another step toward making immersive learning accessible to every student, everywhere.”
