Anthropic commits $100m to train 10,000 engineers to deploy Claude inside businesses
Claude Frontier Academy will put engineers from Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and other organizations through practical AI deployment training, with cohorts already running in San Francisco, New York and London

Anthropic is committing $100 million to a new training program aimed at one of the less visible barriers to enterprise AI adoption: finding engineers who can turn AI projects into systems that work inside real organizations.
The company’s Claude Frontier Academy plans to train 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers, or FDEs, by the end of 2027. These are engineers expected to combine software development skills with an understanding of how to introduce AI into business processes, navigate security requirements and move projects into production.
Engineers from Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk are among those taking part in the first cohorts.
Anthropic says the Academy draws directly on its experience deploying Claude inside large companies and the professional services firms that advise them. The focus is not on introductory AI literacy. Participants are expected to be experienced software engineers with strong technical foundations and previous experience building with large language models.
Steve Corfield, Global Head of Business Development and Partnerships at Anthropic, says: “A small team of high-agency people with the right skills, access to Claude, and a deep understanding of how their business runs can transform an entire company.”
Engineers train on a simulated enterprise deployment
The first program within the Academy is the Frontier Deployed Engineer Residency.
Anthropic describes the model as closer to a professional residency than a conventional training course. Engineers begin with a multi-day, in-person program led by Anthropic engineers and licensed instructors, working through a simulated enterprise AI deployment from selecting a use case and completing security review through to handover.
Participants then complete a graded practical assessment. Those who pass receive a Claude Resident Engineer badge and enter a 12-week residency.
During that period, each engineer leads a real Claude project inside their own organization, with support from Anthropic engineers and other members of their cohort. A second assessment at the end determines whether they receive the Claude Frontier Deployed Engineer credential.
The first of those credentials are expected to be awarded in early 2027.
Companies nominate engineers and bring a real Claude project
The program is aimed at people who will take responsibility for significant AI deployments rather than employees seeking general upskilling.
Organizations nominate participants, and each engineer is expected to arrive with a named Claude project that they will lead after the initial training.
Anthropic says prior experience building AI agents is not required, but applicants should already have experience with large language models, helping others adopt AI and solving important technical problems within their organization.
Corfield describes the goal as building engineers with enough AI fluency to take Claude “from an idea to a system in production and turn it into faster processes and new products and services.”
Anthropic expands beyond certification courses
Claude Frontier Academy builds on Anthropic’s existing Claude Partner Network training.
According to the company, professionals across 46,000 firms have earned more than 175,000 Claude certifications, while almost 4,000 people have completed Basecamp, its immersive training program based on the curriculum used to onboard Anthropic’s Applied AI teams.
The new Academy sits above those programs, with a more intensive focus on engineers responsible for deploying AI inside organizations.
Initial cohorts are already underway in San Francisco, New York and London. Participation is by nomination, with organizations directed to their Anthropic account team or Partner Account Manager to check eligibility.
