Online tutoring platform Edumentors has announced it has secured $2 million in a seed round led by UAE-based Magna Investments.

Writing on LinkedIn, Edumentors’ Founder and CEO Tornike Asatiani says the company has now started work on Edu AI, a fully interactive human-AI tutor.

Edumentors claims Edu AI will be the “world’s first fully interactive live AI tutor,” combining personalized learning with real-time feedback and unlimited sessions.

“Edu AI will help us make our high quality education accessible to millions of families. This will open a massive new blue ocean market so stay tuned,” Asatiani writes.

Founded in 2022, Edumentors connects students and parents with tutors from leading UK universities including Cambridge and Oxford to provide academic support, motivation and encouragement. Its tutors also provide guidance on preparing for university and succeeding in the workplace.

Edumentors previously secured £500,000 in funding through an angel round, as well as a £50,000 government grant.

The news follows shortly after Efekta Education Group, an AI edtech provider, shared that its AI language tutor Addi has been successfully rolled out to more than one million English language students and their teachers in Brazil.
