Cambridge and HP invite education leaders in the Middle East and North Africa to join EdTech Fellowship

Technology company HP has partnered with Cambridge University Press and Assessment on a new EdTech Fellowship.

The five month fellowship will explore technological innovations in education and will include a residential week in Cambridge. Fellows will work on a final project with the aim of expanding access to EdTech and building more learning opportunities for all students.

The cohort will be the fellowship’s first expansion into North Africa after strong engagement in Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Gulf.

"Education systems in the Middle East and North Africa face unique opportunities and challenges," explains Jane Mann, Managing Director, Partnership for Education, Cambridge University Press and Assessment. "This fellowship brings fresh thinking and supports leaders to deliver bold solutions that strengthen equity and resilience."

Leaders will also be invited to investigate how emerging technologies, including AI, can support strategic innovation; build practical expertise; and support their own professional development.

Mayank Dhingra, Global Director, Education Business and Strategy at HP Inc, adds: "Following our successful Gulf cohort, our expansion to the Middle East and North Africa highlights increasing demand for strategic EdTech leadership in the region and accelerates digital transformation with local policymakers and education leaders as they shape the future of learning through technology."

Dr Asma Alhamadi, CEO at Applied College, Saudi Electronic University, and a previous Fellow on the scheme, says of the fellowship: “Its impact on leaders in the Gulf region is profound and will undoubtedly influence a vast number of people and potentially future generations.”
