SkillStorm partners with Southern New Hampshire University to expand college access to veterans and other non-traditional learners

SkillStorm, a technology training provider, is working with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU)  to expand access to college credit and affordable degree pathways to non-traditional learners, veterans and others seeking a career in technology.

SkillStorm learners will be able to gain college credit by earning certifications in select courses on topics including AI, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.

The certifications are backed by organizations including AWS, Microsoft and CompTIA and can count toward bachelor’s degree completion at SNHU. Learners certified by SkillStorm will receive a 15 percent discount on tuition on SNHU online degree programs.

Military-affiliated learners can also transfer up to 90 credits of professional military education and on-the-job training toward a bachelor’s degree.

"The future of the tech workforce depends on faster, more flexible pathways," comments Joe Mitchell, Chief Operating Officer at SkillStorm.

"Too often, talented individuals are held back by systems that fail to recognize skills gained through work, service, or non-traditional education. This partnership with SNHU enables learners to earn college credit while building in-demand technical skills—accelerating their path to a great career in technology without choosing between education and employment."

SkillStorm says the traditional four-year degree is no longer the only path toward a career in technology as many of its learners are working adults, career changers and veterans.

Last year, SkillStorm launched two new certification tracks - one on cloud engineering and another on cybersecurity - designed specifically for veterans. The two courses are offered part-time through the SkillBridge and GI Bill programs, aiming to prepare students for commercial tech roles or high-impact positions supporting government modernization.
