OpenAI event draws 600 applications for 60 AI Demo Day places

OpenAI team member Wulfie Bain took to LinkedIn to outline the response to the latest AI Demo Days event, reporting 600 applications for 60 available places.
OpenAI develops large-scale artificial intelligence models used across consumer and enterprise products. Bain noted that the event focused on bringing together builders from across the AI community.
Bain wrote that the session “really was an evening focussed on the community & what they're building,” adding that the team is exploring more space for future editions. The event was hosted at OpenAI’s headquarters.
The update listed several demonstrations from startups and developers working across personal assistants, recruiting tools, agentic workflows, and reinforcement approaches.
Examples included personal AI assistants from Joon-sang Lee and Sam at Pentaform Ltd., agentic recruiting from Saaras Mehan at Jack & Jill, sandboxed coding agents from Misha Kaletsky at Iterate, and durable workflows from Jack Kleeman at Restate.
Bain also highlighted work from Théophile Sautory at OpenAI, who presented advances in Reinforcement Fine Tuning. Bain noted backing from Jack & Jill, Cloudflare, and StackOne, reflecting the broader network involved in the event.
