HCLTech teams up with MIT Media Lab to explore next-gen AI innovation and ethics
HCLTech has joined the MIT Media Lab as a member organization to co-develop applied AI research and host collaborative events on responsible innovation and emerging technology.

MIT Media Lab has announced that HCLTech has become its newest member, joining a global network of organizations exploring how technology can address complex social and technical challenges.
The MIT Media Lab, part of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, works with academic and industry partners to co-develop and test emerging technologies across fields including AI, robotics, design, and data ethics.
HCLTech, a technology services company specializing in digital engineering, cloud, and artificial intelligence, will collaborate with the Lab’s faculty, researchers, and students on joint research and development initiatives.
Vijay Guntur, Chief Technology Officer and Head of Ecosystems at HCLTech, says: “We are thrilled to join forces with the MIT Media Lab, positioning HCLTech at the forefront of applied AI research. By engaging with world-class faculty and researchers, we aim to explore co-development of innovations that create real-world impact for our clients.”
AI ethics and innovation events planned
As part of the partnership, HCLTech will participate in a range of events at the Media Lab, including a Future of Applied AI roundtable, an AI and Ethics salon, and an innovation showcase featuring co-developed technologies. These gatherings aim to promote open dialogue on responsible AI adoption and strengthen collaboration between academia and industry.
MIT Media Lab said the partnership would open opportunities for applied experimentation and rapid prototyping, with projects designed to bridge research and practical implementation.
The collaboration, announced in Cambridge and Mumbai, represents a continuation of HCLTech’s investment in AI-driven research and sustainability-focused innovation.
