ElevenLabs sets out worldwide hackathon with Abu Dhabi chapter at MBZUAI

MBZUAI will host the Abu Dhabi edition of ElevenLabs’ global hackathon as builders compete to develop new conversational agents.

ElevenLabs has taken to social media to outline plans for its largest worldwide hackathon, confirming a one-evening event across more than 30 cities as teams prototype new conversational agents.

ElevenLabs develops AI audio and voice technologies used in speech generation, multilingual agents and AI-powered accessibility tools.

The MBZUAI Incubation and Entrepreneurship Center (IEC) later shared its own update online, confirming it will host the Abu Dhabi chapter. The center supports early-stage AI ventures and student builders at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.

In its post, MBZUAI IEC says, “We are excited to partner with ElevenLabs on their Worldwide Hackathon, with an Abu Dhabi chapter hosted at MBZUAI.”

Hackathon spans major global hubs

ElevenLabs confirmed that the event will take place on December 11 from 6pm to 10:30pm local time in each participating city. Locations include London, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Singapore, Berlin, Dublin, Mumbai, Sydney and Austin, with additional chapters across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America.

Participants will build conversational agents using ElevenLabs technology alongside a small number of partner tools, including Anthropic. The focus is on rapid prototyping in a four-and-a-half-hour window, with teams expected to submit functional demos by the end of the session.

Spaces are limited, and the company notes that applications will be screened. ElevenLabs states that registering “does not guarantee a spot,” and that acceptance emails will be issued one week before the event. The selection process is not first-come, first-served.

Prizes include more than 200,000 dollars in rewards. The global winner will receive dinner with the ElevenLabs founding team in London, 111 million ElevenLabs credits and an invitation to present at the ElevenLabs Summit. City-level prizes include Apple AirPods and Stripe credits, with additional awards tied to specific use of partner technologies.

ElevenLabs positions the event as a concentrated moment for experimentation in voice and agent design. In its announcement, ElevenLabs says, “This is where the future of conversational agents will be built.”
