EAL appoints Mirasol Edgcombe as head of operations to support international expansion and digital transformation

The awarding organization, known for its role in engineering and construction qualifications, is strengthening its leadership team as it scales its services across the UK and global markets.

EAL, a UK-based awarding organization specializing in Engineering & Manufacturing and Building Services Engineering qualifications, has appointed Mirasol Edgcombe as Head of Operations.

The company, which contributed to the development of T-Levels in technical disciplines, is positioning itself for broader transformation efforts both domestically and internationally.

Focus on service delivery and operational alignment

In her new role, Edgcombe will oversee operations across customer experience, quality assurance for EAL-approved centers, and assessment delivery. Her appointment is intended to support internal alignment and improve consistency across the organization’s service touchpoints.

Edgcombe has over two decades of experience in service delivery and international operations. Prior to joining EAL, she held senior positions at City & Guilds, including Head of IT Service Operations and Head of Fulfilment and Operational Delivery.

Industry experience aligned with EAL’s trajectory

Alison Parkes, Managing Director at EAL, says: "I am thrilled to welcome Mirasol to EAL in a newly expanded role of Head of Operations, as part of our senior leadership team.

“Mirasol joins us at an exciting time; her proven track record of driving operational excellence and strategic growth, along with both digital and international operations, aligns perfectly with our vision for the future.

“I am confident that Mirasol’s strategic vision and proven expertise delivering service excellence, will be instrumental in propelling us forward to delivering our long-term ambitions both in UK and international operations.”

The appointment comes as EAL advances its transformation strategy, which includes digital upgrades and the development of a more globally oriented offering. While Edgcombe’s experience aligns with this direction, the effectiveness of these leadership shifts will likely depend on how they translate into measurable outcomes across customer support and assessment delivery in practice.

Edgcombe comments: “This is a wonderful opportunity for me, which will utilise my experience, judgement and ability, to help deliver EAL’s immediate plans and ambitious long-term vision.

“Joining EAL at this pivotal moment is incredibly exciting, as the organisation drives forward delivering digital and cultural transformation in line with its ambition to evolve as a global operation within the next few years. It is an honour to have the opportunity to help elevate EAL's services and positively impact countless learners and educators not just in the UK, but in other parts of the world.”
