Frontdoor partners with nonprofit to provide civilian job training for U.S. military veterans

Ten service members will gain work experience through Frontdoor’s remote sales, marketing, and product development teams.

Frontdoor, a U.S. home warranty provider, has announced a partnership with the nonprofit Service 2 Software to train 10 military service members for civilian careers.

The initiative is part of Service 2 Software’s relationship with the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program, which connects transitioning service members with workforce opportunities.

Structured training for transitioning veterans

The participating veterans will join Frontdoor’s remote workforce, working alongside sales, product development, and marketing teams. The company has operated a fully remote policy since 2020.

Service 2 Software specializes in preparing military personnel for high-demand roles in technology, sales, and revenue operations through a four- to five-month training model. It partners with businesses across the U.S. to provide immersive experience and career pathways.

Bill Cobb, chairman and chief executive officer of Frontdoor, says the program aligns with the company’s values. “It’s deeply gratifying to us to be able to help empower these veterans as they transition into civilian life and embark on a new career path. Their discipline, tenacity, and passion are bedrock leadership qualities that will help growth and innovation for companies and communities alike,” Cobb says.

Expanding pathways beyond military service

Service 2 Software operates as a nonprofit talent accelerator and has built a nationwide network of training partners and placement opportunities. David Hester, chief executive officer of Service 2 Software, says the collaboration goes beyond a standard training program.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Frontdoor as a Service 2 Software partner. This collaboration represents not just another training partnership; it’s a movement toward redefining how businesses tap into the leadership, grit, and adaptability of our nation’s service members. We believe military experience translates to unmatched value in the workplace. Frontdoor shares that belief, and together, we’re opening new doors for veterans to thrive in business roles,” Hester says.

Cobb adds that the initiative benefits both the veterans and the company. “Service 2 Software runs an excellent program and we’re confident this will be a big win for the veterans and our company,” Cobb says.
