CyberNorth creates new Delivery Manager role as Danielle Phillips takes over as CEO

CyberNorth, the North East of England’s regional cyber security cluster, has appointed Helen Matthews to the role of Delivery Manager – Skills, as Danielle Phillips officially steps into the role of CEO following the retirement of Phil Jackman.
Matthews previously spent 18 months at UKC3, the UK Cyber Cluster Collaboration, shaping its operation and mission to drive economic growth in the cybersecurity sector. In this newly created role, she will work closely with the North East education sector, supporting the future cyber workforce.
Matthews says: "I'm thrilled to join CyberNorth at such a pivotal time, collaboration, building relations and bridging connections between academia and industry is of essence for regional growth in the sector and I relish the opportunity to work with Danielle and the talented team here to further impact the cyber security community here in the North East.”
Danielle Phillips, CEO at CyberNorth adds: “We are excited to welcome Helen, she joins us at a key moment of growth and evolution here at CyberNorth. Helen is already a great asset to the team and her deep expertise and strategic leadership will play a key role in strengthening our standing further in the cyber security community.

CyberNorth recently partnered with key industry leaders including Accenture, Hicomply and Gateshead College. The organization also recently partnered with HR, payroll, and accounting technology provider Sage to support the development of the UK’s cyber sector. The collaboration includes plans for a dedicated North East Innovation Zone, a physical space designed to support growth and collaboration among technology businesses based in the UK.
