CuriosityStream announces leadership transition with CFO change

Peter Westley

CuriosityStream, a global factual entertainment provider, is set to experience a significant change in its executive team. Following a successful first quarter in 2024, where the company reported positive net cash from operating activities and a notable increase in direct subscription revenues, Peter Westley is stepping down from his role as Chief Financial Officer. Effective 31st May, 2024, Westley will transition to a consulting role within the company.

During his tenure, Westley played a pivotal role in steering CuriosityStream towards financial stability, which included achieving a milestone of positive adjusted free cash flow.

Under his financial leadership, CuriosityStream not only enhanced its financial framework but also expanded its subscription services globally, establishing partnerships in 25 countries and adding several new content licensing partnerships.

The Board of Directors has appointed Brady Hayden as the new CFO, starting on the same date Westley steps down. Hayden brings a wealth of experience from previous financial leadership roles at notable organisations, including Cyren Ltd, the US Postal Service, and Spok Holdings Inc.

His background in managing finance teams and his familiarity with the dynamics of high-growth companies are expected to align well with CuriosityStream's strategic goals.

This transition occurs at a time when CuriosityStream continues to capitalise on its content and subscription model innovations to foster growth and expand its market reach.
