CrowdStrike and AARNet partner on cyber threat detection service using Falcon’s AI technology
CrowdStrike, a global cybersecurity provider, has announced an extension to its partnership with Australia’s Academic and Research Network (AARNet), delivering CrowdStrike Falcon Complete Next-Gen MDR to Australia’s education and research sector.

The new service will provide institutions with managed detection and response to defend against cyber threats, using CrowdStrike’s Falcon Complete for Service Providers, delivered by AARNet.
As the threat of cyberattacks continues to grow, Australia’s education and research sectors are said to be a prime target thanks to their access to valuable data and intellectual property - and underresourced internal security programs
“Expanding our partnership with CrowdStrike, cybersecurity’s industry leader, simply makes sense given Australia’s research and education sector is constantly targeted by sophisticated cyber threat actors,” explains Charles Sterner, CISO, AARNet.
“Our customers need to be able to protect their vital assets with best-in-class cybersecurity capabilities and expertise. We’re excited to work with CrowdStrike to provide an MDR solution that ensures customers can comprehensively manage, detect and respond to threats.”
Falcon Complete Next-Gen MDR will be available to AARNet customers as a standalone service or as an additional service to an existing customer’s AARNet Security Operations Centre.
“Falcon Complete Next-Gen MDR sets the standard for MDR while accelerating SOC transformation initiatives in collaboration with innovative services partners like AARNet,” adds Jon Fox, Vice President, channels and alliances, at CrowdStrike Asia Pacific and Japan.
“Together, we’re a true force multiplier for Australia’s education and research cybersecurity teams, delivering the advanced technology, expertise, and sector-specific experience they need to combat modern threats. We’re excited to expand our partnership with AARNet, securing the mission-critical institutions powering Australia’s next generation of innovation and growth.”
